My top 3 Battlefield 2 Mods

So, it's finally here. After much procrastination, editing issues and blogger problems, in terms of file size at least, I am proud to present my Top 3 Battlefield 2 Mods video. It's just some gameplay and commentary by yours truly (me). I rated the mods in terms of: How much I enjoyed them, how much new stuff they added, and if the new stuff was any good. Unfortunately, blogger wouldn't let me upload anything over 100mbs large, so a few alterations had to be made. I just hope the quality is good.

So, you like the look of these mods? Here are the links

1. Allied Intent eXtended: www.aixtended.com

I recommend you download them, they make Battlefield 2 Feel like a new game again.

Text List of upgrades:

3. Lions Roar
Lions roar adds a new Japanese Faction, and improves the Chinese weapons, introducing some new ones and improving old ones. A few new maps and vehicles. Rating: 78%

2. Spec Ops Warfare
Adds the Special Forces of Russia and America, namely the well know Navy Seals, The Awesome Delta Force, and the nearly undefeatable Spetsnaz. Improves Gunplay DRASTICALLY, making it more fast paced and Call of Duty like. Makes you feel like an actual Spec Ops Operative with new weapons, equipment, and a decent amount of new maps. Also introduces semi-ealistic warfare. Rating: 89%

1. Allied Intent eXtended
Adds a meagaton of new vehicle, new weapons, a new United Nations faction, new equpiment, improved AI that will even employ flanking tactics, and that will cover their allies with air support and sniper cover as well. Simply amazing mod, with a heavy emphasis on adding more air vehicles to ALL factions, such as the A-10, Mig 21, Harrier, AH-64 Apache, to name but a tiny few. This mod is simply INCREDIBLE, and I would advise everyone who has BF2 to get it, as well as the map packs. Rating: 98%

Battlefield Helicopter Tactics

GET TO ZE CHOPPA!

Helicopters are arguably the most useful, and lethal pieces of equipment on the Battlefield, but many people don't know the basics on helicopter etiquette, I'm here to try and change that.. Scout Helicopters: Get one group of friends to join Delta squad, take up sniper rifles, let them enter your scout helicopter, and fly them over to a rooftop, and drop them off to provide sniper cover for your team. Then hot foot it back to base, to pick up some more allies. Also, DO NOT, waste your vehicle, don't drop off guys, then fly the helicopter around aimlessly, or crash it. Head back to base and offer some more allies a ride. Remember, the more men you have on the ground, the better your chances of not being shot down. If there are no more people to pick up, fly recon, spot heavily entrenched positions, as well as spot armor to warn your teammates of things that could end them. Then, initiate strafing runs, fly over your guys, to inspire them, improve their moral, and see how awesome you are. Go in, guns blazing, making your teams life easier. Transport Helicopters: Despite what many believe, Transport helicopters can be a very important vehicle, with the ability to carry 4 people at once, it can drop off an entire squad quickly, and provide fire support thanks to the mini-guns on either side. Note that this vehicle has NO, I repeat NO weapons that the pilot can use, but there are the 2 mini-guns on the side, which you two gunners can use, after dropping off the troops, to provide covering fire for troops. Preferably make these 2 gunners your friends, to tell you when to turn to open fire. Also, don't fly straight towards an enemy, rather turn to the side to give your gunners a shot. Please. Attack Helicopters: These helicopters are the bad boys, the death bringers. These helicopters are used to provide close air support. First rule, GET A GUNNER. Do not take off without a gunner. He controls the gun under the nose, which allows you to be able to take out soft targets and provide suppressive fire. As with the others, fly close to your units, to inspire them, and help them feel less lonely. Also, if possible, try to get your gunner as your friend, as communication between pilot and gunner is essential. As for a video, I will see if Fraps wants to stop being pants-on-head retarded. If so, I will record and attempt to post a video of my top 3 Battlefield 2 mods on here. These mods are fun, and also offer a slightly more tactical element to Battlefield 2. Happy Gaming!

How to play Call of Duty, Tacticallly

And so the impossible, becomes possible...

Call of Duty, if you don't know why I don't like it, rfer back to my blog archives and you'll see soon enough. Done? Excellent. Now, I'm going to tell you how to play Call of Duty Tactically, it took me a while, learning how to do it on Black Ops 2, but I finished this little guide. First off, stick together in groups, if you go alone, the chances of getting taken out by a silenced sniper from an enclosed position without anyone realizing is much higher. Another added bonus is that you can use a whole assorted variety of weaponry, not just SMGs or Assault rifles. Second, use your weapons for their purposes, this means using snipers as long range weapons, taking out problems for your team, machine guns to suppress and pin down the enemy to cover your advancing allies, SMGs to go in quickly and kill numerous targets in an enclosed space, a shotgun to lead the squad through a hall, to kill anyone who pops around the  corner, and pistols as sidearms. You also have to try and find the appropriate ground for these weapons, such as high ground for snipers and LMGs. Third, use anti air. I cannot stress this enough. Have at least someone go as a 'Support' class, with an LMG, and a anti air rocket launcher. With this combo, he can lay down suppressive fire, take out enemy air support, and also take out enemy air and armor with his LMG. Common targets are, UAVs, Lodestars, and those little robot tank things. There are other vehicles that can be taken out, don't let their point streaks grow! Fourth, use an assault shield. I do not see so many people using this anymore, but when I use it on an online match, people crowd behind me for cover, enemy LMGs don't work, my flak jacket perks protects me from grenades, all that stuff adds up. And, if no one uses you as cover, just find a doorway, through some mines down, and guard that door way, people may tell you that you're camping, but just remember: Camping is used in actual warfare. Lastly, choose your perks to suit your specific class, taking assault shield, take a Flak Jacket and lightweight with some extreme conditioning. This goes for the sniper as well, with all the classes in fact, also, attachments must also be altered in regards to your class. Hope you enjoy this new perspective of Call of Duty!

Battlefield 3, is it becoming like COD?

What is happening to the Battlefield?

Oh Battlefield, the game of wits, and guns... but more guns now. But those guns would be useless without some sort of intelligence behind the trigger. That's where tactics come in. Knowing when to shoot is an important part of that. Is the enemy alone, running across an open area, while some of your squad mates are behind you? Fire away. But is he running in a squad, with a helicopter overhead covering them, not a good idea to pull the trigger. But, after playing Battlefield 3 recently after playing exclusively with friends, i noticed, that people just shoot. i was pinned down behind a stone wall, it slowly chipping away while an enemy machine gunner was laying it into me. I saw a ally on the mini-map and thought, thank goodness. He ran past me, I thought, okay, maybe he'll hit him from the side. Nope. By the time he got around to get the cinematic knife, I was dead. In the death-cam, I saw him stab the gunner, he was a medic. he didn't even revive me. He just ran off to collect more dog-tags. It was this, as well as other incidents, that have saddened my heart. Pilots flying helicopters into allies, allies shooting allies, constantly camping snipers. It reminds me, unfortunately, of Call of Duty. Expansions, such as Close Quarters and the evil Premium system, which actually turned me off it for a decent deal of time, have only reinforced it. Have all the Call of Duty players swarmed into Battlefield 3? That seems to be the logical conclusion. BUT, as long as there are some tactical gamers left in battlefield 3, It will still be tactical. this is not to say that it's bad, it's just saying that some of the people playing it are bad.

Is this the future of Battlefield 3?

Why I have no faith in Call of Duty

Here's why...

So, Call of Duty, the game that everyone and their grandmothers seem to be playing right now, but have you bought a copy, played it for a while, and realized  after the tenth time of being killed by some guy with a sniper rifle from halfway across the map from you without using his scope, that this may not be the game for you? I know that I have. It started with Black Ops, some friends of mine had it, so I decided to get it to, and got frustrated rather quickly with the attitude of the other players. Kills kills kills, these guys didn't want to detonate the objective, they just wanted to kill everyone they saw. This resulted in me being killed every- time I tried to plant the objective, as no one was there to cover me. this frustrated me. I'll admit now, that I have a very short fuse. But anyway. I was then lured in by extreme advertising, peer pressure and the prospect of survival mode, into the awful game world of..., MODERN WARFARE 3, why? WHY?! It was awful. Dreadful, even. Glitches, hackers, boosters, deathstreaks, over powered killstreaks, a quagmire of inadequacy. The guns all sounded the same, why?! But, then I got Black Ops 2, of my own accord, and decided to play differently, and ended up enjoying it. Stay tuned for: How to play Call of Duty-Tactically!

About the Blog

So, this is it, my entirely new blog... Let's begin, shall we?

So, in case anyone didn't get the idea from the title of my blog, this is a blog about gaming, tactically. Which means none of that Call of Duty style running-and-gunning nonsense. I mean gaming, using cover and teamwork, suppressing fire and air support. So, this is a blog that is more for the Battlefield fans, of which I myself am one. Started with Battlefield 1942,Battlefield Vietnam, Battlefield 2, 2142 and Battlefield 3. All of which incorporate tactics. As such, I reckon that i have some sort of gaming tactical knowledge. So, if you want to learn how to play Call of Duty tactically (It's Possible ) or just want to learn some new tactics for battlefield, this is the blog for you. Feel free to comment and ask questions!
